Neighborhoods In Partnership (NIP) develops residential and commercial real estate
and offers business and residential assistance programs to the neighborhoods of
Collingwood Springs, The Old West End, The Corridor, Uptown, and Toledo Olde Towne Community Organization.

Sub-committee Meeting Schedules:

The Law Enforcement Subcommittee and the Community Policing Subcommittee meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 5PM at the Hamilton Bldg., 525 Hamilton Street,
2nd floor.

The Prevention, Intervention & Treatment Subcommittee, the Neighborhood Restoration Subcommittee and the NIP Law Enforcement Subcommittee meet on the 4th Monday of each month at 6 PM at Kent Branch Library.

The Weed & Seed Steering Committee meets every 4th Thursday at 6PM at NIP.

 After an absence of many years the nationally known GUS MACKER 3-on-3 BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT has returned to Toledo! Sponsored by Neighborhoods In Partnership, the event was held August 26th and 27th, 2006 at the Erie Street Market. 103 teams from Toledo, Michigan, Indiana, and Wisconsin registered to play. Have you ever wanted to own your business? If you have an idea for a business and want to learn how to turn that idea into reality then call us. NIP has a MicroEnterprise Program for low-to middle income residents or owners of businesses in the NIP, ONYX, NorthRiver, or Ottawa Community Development Corporation areas. Scholarships to business classes offered by ASSETS TOLEDO or Toledo Chamber of Commerce NexLevel are available along with loans for start-up businesses. Back issues of the NIP Newsletter are now available on line. NIP publishes a newsletter approximately every three months. Entitled "The Quarterly Review", it will usually be on the website before the actual newsletter is printed and distributed. TOTCO, Toledo Olde Towne Community Organization has become a member of NIP. TOTCO, bounded by Bancroft, Cherry, Collingwood, Delaware, and Warren Streets has been a neighborhood organization since 1967 and it was incorporated as a Comunity Development Corporation in 1991. More information about TOTCO can be found in the Winter, 2004 Newsletter.
New Cheney Flats at the corner of Adams & Franklin streets is completed and occupied. The 65 one, two, and three bedroom apartments and townhouses in four attractive buildings are fully air-conditioned and feature off-street parking, a community room, a safe play area for children, and individual security systems. If you live in the Old West End Historic District remember that ANY exterior alteration, including re-roofing, gutters, siding or windows requires a Certificate Of Appropriateness which is issued by the Toledo-Lucas County Plan Commission. Before you make any changes, consult the Plan Commission at 419-936-2652.

DO YOUR PART to help create a better neighborhood. Pick up around your property. Report illegal dumping by calling 419-255-STOP. Do not put your trash at the curb any earlier than 5:00 PM during the winter and 7:00 PM during spring and summer on the day before your regularly scheduled pick up. Be sure to bring your trash cans back from the curb after trash pick up.
IN 1999 HUD issued new regulations regarding reduction of lead-based paint hazards. The regulations are not only based on scientific research but also on the practical experience of controlling lead hazards in subsidized housing.
